Only a little while longer, now.
Yes, All Hallow’s Eve approaches. And so do we. We vampires are hungry this time of year.
As are zombies and ghosts and spooks and creatures of the night, coming in from our haunted fields and forests, from barns and dens and those dwellings with no floors or windows or doors once you enter.
Dear reader, don’t be afraid. This is definitely some superior fun, just ahead of Oct. 31. You’ve still got time to gather your friends together and head out into the night where The Hunger 7 awaits.
“The Hunger 7 is a play on words: a craving or need, requiring sustenance; of course people always want more," says Definitely Superior’s director David Karasiewicz who is grinning in anticipation of a record crowd participating in this year’s high energy costume blast of a party.
It rocks throughout several downtown north core blocks this Saturday night.
“We’ve lined up a total of 49 acts including 42 live bands and DJ’s and it all takes place simultaneously at seven downtown north venues. It’s the largest music and performative event in the city, period.”
Vampires can fly fast and far. We heard last year there were two thousand six hundred souls at your party. Excellent. Who cares if we can’t come out in daylight? This sounds well worth our attention.
“To put the evening into perspective, Sir, The Hunger is a mix of multi-genre styles of music and performance arts. We are a vibrant neighbourhood full of music, art, history and culture.
"We move safely between participating bars/restaurants and venues. We even like to celebrate on sidewalks like the block parties of earlier decades. It’s something wonderful to behold: everyone dressed in full Halloween regalia, allowing them to satisfy their own performative desires as they take on the personas of their costumes.
"The Hunger is a highly visible social gathering, exciting and safe; and one of the best examples of how the gallery raises funds in an artistic manner. The arts, as we know, are definitely in need of sustenance.”
And so are we. Satisfy our hunger now!
My dear Count D, of course you’re invited. Hunger 7 happens on Saturday October 27.
Only one $10 cover for the whole night.
No, I’m not referring to your cape. And, well, try not to smile right off the bat, you’ll give yourself away with those teeth. Oh, yes but I do like them! By all means you and your friends fly into Crock's, Black Pirates Pub, The Sovereign Room, The Foundry, Gargoyles, A Little to the Left, or Hell, which has pretty nice dance floor there, don’t you think?
Tell the others.
Oh don’t worry, we’ll be there.
